Information about how this blog collects and uses data.

Information collected and its use

You can read this blog without signing in. Requests to the site involve basic technical information, such as network addresses, browser information, requested pages, and request times. This information may be processed to deliver the site, maintain its reliability, and detect or limit misuse.

Public comments and GitHub sign-in

Commenting is optional. When you sign in through GitHub, the blog receives your public GitHub user ID and username to identify your account and associate it with your comments. Your username, avatar, comment text, and posting date are visible to other readers. Do not include information in a comment that you do not want to make public.

Comments and sign-in status are loaded when you approach the comment section. Avatars are requested from GitHub, which receives the associated image request.

Cookies and service providers

The blog uses cookies to support sign-in and keep you signed in. Your selected color theme is stored in your browser.

Cloudflare provides site delivery, hosting, and request and security processing. GitHub provides sign-in and avatar services. These providers may process information under their own privacy policies. For further information, see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the GitHub Privacy Statement. Links to other websites are subject to those websites’ policies.

Retention and your choices

Public comments remain available until removed. Temporary sign-in and abuse-prevention records are subject to expiration and cleanup. Service providers may maintain separate records under their own policies.

While signed in, you can delete comments associated with your GitHub account. Cached versions may take time to update, and copies or backups may remain with service providers or other readers. Deleting a comment does not guarantee immediate removal of every copy.

Signing out removes the session cookie from your current browser. Other copies of an existing session may remain valid until they expire. You can clear stored theme preferences and cookies through your browser settings; doing so may reset preferences or end sign-in.

Notice updates

This notice may be revised to reflect changes to the blog or its data-handling practices. The current version will be published on this page.
